This pattern gives a few variations,from a baby size made from oddments to the larger cuddly version. The quickest knit is in 14ply chunky or 12ply boucle, but they are really sweet when knitted in bright colour variegated 4ply.
14ply and 12ply versions (in Knit), you will need:
90g (80m) 14ply chunky for body or
100g (160m) 12ply boucle (knit in double strand)
10g (20m) 8ply wool for beak and legs
5.00mm and 4.00mm needles
8ply version (in St-st), you will need:
50g (100m) 8ply for body
10g (20m) 8ply wool for beak and legs
3.75mm and 3.50mm needles
4ply version (in St-st), you will need:
15g (75m) 4ply for body
5g (20m) 4ply wool for beak and legs
2.50mm needles
Plus
- Washable toy stuffing
- 3 plastic drinking straws
- (2 cotton buds for 4ply version - buds cut off)
- 2 tiny buttons for the eyes (optional)
